Julie grew up having magic history and literature being shoved down her throat, there was not a time where she wasn't being taught a potion or a spell and being told she was a complete failure at it. The thing about Julie is she practices ancestral magic which means she's stronger with her sisters nearby but she was never told she even had siblings. From the time she could speak she was forced to practice as much as humanly possible and she took the abuse without so much of a complaint. Her father was a harsh man and she was told her mother died in childbirth with her and that was yet another thing that was placed on her shoulders.The one thing that got her through her childhood was her best friend who seemed a natural with spellwork while she excelled in potion making. Until the day he told her she would never amount to anything because she was simply too weak and her magic would never get any stronger. It was a low blow and she took it to heart. Everyone's lack of faith in her led to the biggest mistake of her life.She was freshly eighteen when she found a coven that took her in despite her lack of apparent skill. They treated her like family and told her a secret to obtaining power beyond her wildest dreams.You make a deal with a demon.Hellbent on getting stronger and showing her father he was wrong she agreed to it. They needed her to complete a summoning spell, trying to call a demon forth and bind it so they could negotiate terms but things didn't work out quite the way they expected. They had her take the lead with the spell and they successfully summoned a demon but the demon was not willing to negotiate the way they thought he would. Not to mention he was not the demon they were trying to summon in the first place. The demon they wanted was a lesser demon but they got one that had uncontrollable abilities and a thirst for chaos.He slaughtered her coven right before her eyes, forcing her to watch before he took full advantage of her. Granting her wish for power by impregnating her with his spawn and letting her use its power as her own. He left her bleeding, broken and with a promise to return for the baby before going off on a killing spree seeing as he had gotten what he wanted from the naive little witches. Julie didn't want the baby and with her newfound power she managed to summon the demon they were originally trying to summon and struck another deal. He would give her part of his power in exchange for the baby now growing within her womb. She waited a month, siphoning the power she felt radiating inside her and storing it somewhere safe before cutting the fetus out of her womb and completely siphoning the magic from it. Then she called the demon who requested it.He was quite angry at first, refusing to give her the power he had promised her until she pointed out that the need for the child to be alive was never specified and if he failed to uphold his end of the bargain she would tattle to his father and put the blame all on him. Her next deal was easier, the next even easier than that until she had made twelve of them and gotten out of each and every single one of them. She did all of this within a year and a half and now it doesn't matter if she's with family, she has so much power she can do just about anything she wants. Due to her reputation of selling her soul and getting it back, her trips to Hell never lasting very long she's gained a reputation there and she's essentially public enemy number one and demons are told not to speak with her.Even though she always gets her soul back it's damaged. Unknown to Julie of course. It was almost like with every deal she gave a part of herself away like her soul was a jigsaw puzzle but the returned pieces weren't exactly fitting the way they were supposed to. They were bent, broken and so now she has a dangerous mean streak but she somehow keeps it in check most of the time. Most of the time she's a gentle witch, having been trained in white magic all of her life but nowadays she's been researching all kinds of dark and torturous spells. By day she works in a diner that sells out of their beignets by the afternoon and at night she sells potions and elixirs to people in need who believe in what she's capable of. She's helped countless of people and she enjoys it but she can't help making more deals. She craves power, needs it, seeks it out like a crack whore desperate for their next fix and she isn't going to stop.
